How common are mental health difficulties in teenagers?
The World Health Organization estimates that one in seven 10- to 19-year-olds (14.3%) experience a mental health condition.
How teen therapy with Angela works
- Session 1: therapy begins directly with your teenager, so the trust is theirs from the start
- Session 2: a confidential case formulation, shared with your teenager
- Session 3 onward: goals set with your teenager and worked through using CBT and DBT
What stays confidential
In line with ethical guidelines, sessions with teenagers are confidential, and parents are not told what is discussed. Parents are contacted only in an emergency, or when there is a risk to the teenager's safety or someone else's.
What Angela helps teenagers with
- Low self-esteem and identity development
- Emotional regulation and behavioural difficulties
- Academic stress
- Anxiety and depression
- ADHD and autism spectrum disorder
